BEACHES

Maui’s spectacular beaches delight visitors from all over the world, and why not, they are sun-drenched and offer something for everyone! All beaches are public and you won’t have any problem finding one perfect for you. Here is a list of just a few:

WEST MAUI

Kaanapali Beach

This four-mile-long dazzling beach fronts many of the best-known hotels and resort/condo properties on Maui’s west side. Parking can be a problem but there are a few public spaces or you can pay to park at Whalers Village or one of the resorts/hotels, not cheap but available.

Kahekili Beach Park

This stretch of golden sand offers fantastic snorkeling, a grassy lawn, pavilion, picnic tables, BBQs, showers, restrooms, parking, and a beautiful coral reef just offshore.

Napili Bay Beach

One of Maui’s most visited beaches, it is perfect for swimming, tanning and snorkeling is it gentle surf and stunningly clear water.

Kapalua Beach

About 15 miles north of Kaanapali you’ll find this crescent shaped beach cove with crystal clear water. The parking lot is limited to about 30 spaces so arrive early.

SOUTH MAUI

Kihei’s Kamaole Beaches I, II & III are outstanding.  Smack dab in the middle of this busy fun beach town, these jewels are popular playgrounds for visitors and locals alike.

Keawakapu Beach Park

Just south of the Kamaole beaches you’ll come to one of Maui’s most popular beaches with its golden sand, mile-long expanse, pristine water, and great whale watching between December and April.

 Ulua Beach

Some of South Maui’s best snorkeling and scuba diving can be found at this beautiful Wailea beach just south of Kihei Town

Wailea Beach

It’s no secret why the Four Seasons and Grand Wailea chose this beach as their front yard!  Busy and packed as it can be at times, it’s worth every minute…oh, the beauty of its deep sand and pristine ocean!

Maluaka Beach

Just south of Wailea is this less crowded beach. Swimming is great here and you’re likely to see green sea turtles in the calm water.

Makena State Beach Park (Big Beach)

This beach is huge, more than 100 ft. wide and 3,300 ft. long. The shore break is steep and the surf powerful here; if you’re not an experience ocean swimmer, best to enjoy the scenery ashore. On the north end of the beach there’s a steep trail to clothing-optional Little Beach…just look for the curious hikers.

NORTH SHORE & EAST MAUI

H. P. Baldwin Beach Park

Leaving Kahului just before Paia you see a soccer field, turn there and you’re at one of Maui’s most “local” beach parks, popular with families, boogie boarders and fishermen.

A few miles beyond Paia, this beach is a wave rider’s paradise famous as one of the top spots in the world for board surfing, windsurfing and kiteboarding
with its numerous surf breaks and waves that can reach as high as 25 ft.

Waianapanapa State Park

If you’re planning on driving to Hana, you really must stop at this gorgeous 120-acre park with its shoreline trails, cave pools, and black sand. About seven miles before Hana, you’ll see a sign on your left, turn there and get ready for a WOW experience!
